I have to disagree. with a well configured mail client, a list is way more 
comfortable than a forum, AND it's locally available. but that may be only my 
opinion.

I don't know that.
so if this works like a usual mailing list, and one has not to deal with the 
forum stuff whne using the mailing list (or vice versa), it should be ok.
