what about including libgpsd, would that make it more resource friendly?
a first quick grep over the code didn't reveal anything. i guess gpsd (daemon)
would still have to be running, but we could throw away nmea parsing.
just an idea.. i haven't coded with libgpsd and i'm currently busy with
a carpc frontend (nghost)..
