[ gpsdrive ] Compiling problems, missing libraries, libxml version and missing degree, minutes decimal notation

I downloaded the latest svn version today and started to prepare for
compiling (./configure).

The first problem i got was the libxml version, my Ubuntu system (which
is up to date) has version 2.0.26, while GPSDrive claims to need 2.0.27.
I just made some changes to the configure file to avoid this
problem.......

The next problem i got was when linking:
"libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/libgeos.la'"
libgeos-dev was not installed in my system, shouldn't this be discovered
by the configure script ?

After installing this library and making the libxml hack it compiles
fine and seems to run fine, only Demo mode tested yet.

One thing I noticed, which I do not like is that the option to display
the position in degrees and minutes decimal is removed. This is the way
that is normally used on mu sea maps, and it is also the way it is used
by geocacging.com. So please get the degree and minutes decimal position
back since that is what is used on sea maps, on land maps normally UTM
coordinates are used, but I am not sure if we should introduce that to
GPSDrive........
(The degree and minutes decimal position was actually introduced into
GPSDrive by me a year or two ago.)
